Lakme School of Style- My Views

Hey guys,
Have you checked the official YouTube channel of Lakme School of Style? If not you really must. It has some amazing videos on several social issues that we are facing each day. Karan Johar is the chief editor and also check out his awesome replies in his videos, it will make you laugh for sure. There are many videos which I loved personally but these are the two videos which I could completely relate to.So check out my views on those:

This is one of the most fantastic videos I have ever checked recently.I am someone who really does believe in women empowerment and strongly support in gender equality. If we are talking about women empowerment, it is only possible if we support each other. We should start from ourselves, from our own home.We should ask ourselves, are we supporting our mothers, ours sisters or we are letting them down each day? I am appalled to see such indifferent, mean attitude of women towards other women. If we keep on bitching, or trying to pull each other down then we are weakening our own cause. It is just like breaking your own home from within. If we want the so called male dominant society to accept us and give us full credit, we should strengthen our bonds like never before.I could relate to each and every observation and views expressed by these girls in the video.
I am a girl with extra pounds and short height and believe me guys I have been subjected to mockery and discrimination mainly by female friends and relatives. It is my body, my right, what I should wear and what I should eat only I have the right to decide. Friendly suggestions and criticisms are always welcome but mean remarks about personal issues is something not acceptable.I strongly believe that we should never be judgmental about others.Instead of wasting time in judging and criticizing others let us all make a vow to uplift each other.Let us promise ourselves to encourage and support each other in every way possible. If we are not supporting each other, there can be no women empowerment in real sense. It will be a distant reality about which we always advocate our opinion but do nothing in real sense to realize it.

This is another video which shook the basic fabric of my life. This makes me ask 'Why am I born as a women? Is it really my fault? I checked the video India's daughter few days back.Guys I have never been ashamed of anything till date. The audacious remarks of those defense lawyers and the rapist made me rethink, whose fault is this anyway? Is it their fault who are expressing such shameful views regarding women or ours who are listening to them and just sharing it on facebook and twitter about their remarks and forgetting about it the next day. I feel we women are as responsible for rape as men are. Got shocked or angry reading my views? Well guys give it a thought. We are the ones who practise gender bias at our home.We support the views of our sons and give in to their relentless demands and when its a daughter we do show our double standards. How many mothers have taught their son to respect women? All we do is teach our sons not to mingle with girls when they are in schools and colleges and when she enters our home as a daughter in law, she is no more important than a kitchen appliance. We allow our sons to go anywhere, do what they get pleased with and yes of course they can wear anything anywhere. But when it comes to daughters, we judge them on their looks, height, weight, and the clothes they wear.It is very easy to judge someone and make hurtful remarks on one's character and clothes but no one can imagine the inner turmoil of the rape victim, because of you guys she is dying each day.My clothes does not define my character. If my clothes are provoking you to rape me, just think how shameful beast you are.
Couple of years back, I was going to a place with my friend.I was wearing a fully clad Salwar kameez and my friend was wearing tees and capris. Just as we reached to a corner, a guy who was approaching in a  bike suddenly groped me from back and punched me hard in my chest and drove away immediately. This incident made me introspect, what was wrong in my clothes? I was fully covered and according to your terms wearing what does not provoke a guy. Then why such shameful, disturbing incident happened with me? What had I done to provoke the guy? Whereas my friend who was wearing western attire did not face it. So guys lets put a stop to all our base less claims and views regarding what a women should do to prevent rapes.Stop judging her character on where she goes and when she returns back, what she eats, what she wears, how many male friends she has and so on.Recently I have been reading many incidents of girl child rape. Now tell me, what a 3 year old girl has done to provoke someone to rape her and kill her mercilessly? Let me tell you guys, this is neither fast food, nor our clothes, the reason is our tolerance to such crimes. We feel as long as we are not the victims, why should we care. As long as we will support the rapist and disown the victim, nothing will change. It is important to teach our sons about respecting women and they should be taught to contribute in household works just like daughters.I do not agree that only illiterate people resort to rape, recently I have read many incidents where professors of well know premier institutes of India have been caught raping their own students.Rape is a heinous crime and can happen with anyone.Lets stop blaming the victim and lets stop compromising with such incidents. We have equal rights to walk on this earth as men.

Lakme Absolute Cheek Chromatic Baked Blush 'Night Sheen'

Hello Friends!
Today I am going to review Lakme Absolute cheek Chromatic blush in shade 'Night Sheen'. I have already reviewed their blush in shade 'Day Sheer' before HERE.

What The Company Says?
Have irresistible rosy cheeks with Lakme Absolute Cheek Chromatic Baked Blush. It contains antioxidants and Vitamin E which hydrates and rejuvenates your skin. You can so easily fall in love with the luminous Blush as you use this luxurious powder for a shimmering glow.

Features
Lakme Absolute Cheek Chromatic Baked Blush is a luxurious powder blush for shimmering glow. Its extraordinary luminosity will make you fall in love with it.
Contains  antioxidants and vitamin E.
  • Get a shimmering glow with this luxurious powder blush
  • Extraordinary luminosity
  • Antioxidant Vitamin E
How to use
Day Look
  • With a brush gently sweep the blush across your cheeks using gentle upward strokes.
Night Look
  • To intensify the shimmer, first apply absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse over face and neck.
  • Then follow instructions for Day Look.
Price: Rs 550 for 4 Grams, I got this after discount and offer for Rs 317 :)

My Take On This Product:
I was not very impressed with the blush 'Day Sheer' much due to presence of stark golden shimmers in it.However the blush 'Night Sheen' is a very pretty peachy brown blush with very finely milled golden shimmers that imparts a silky golden sheen to your cheeks. Its a very flattering shade for Indian Skin Tones.

Its comes in a pot like packaging with a see through transparent cover.I prefer this a lot as you can check the shades easily when you are in a hurry. On the transparent cover very beautifully L is embossed on it.There is a card inside mentioning instructions for use during day and night time.

The blush is dome-shaped and a pretty 'Peachy Brown' shade which is so versatile that you can very much wear it during day to your workplace and also during night to some party,I really mean it guys. Those with fair skin tones, can also use it for contour purpose.

This blush is not very soft like 'Day Sheer, which i liked because in this way there is product wastage while picking up with the blusher brush.I require one swipe of this blush for light Natural application and two when I want to intensify it.I really liked its pigmentation as its moderate and I can use it according to my need.
Staying power of this blush is 4-5 hours, It fades evenly leaving slight peachiness at the end of the day.The texture of the blush is neither very soft or hard. However, I wont say it blends like a dream or anything.I mean you need a good fluffy blusher brush for blending it, flat ones wont blend it nicely.Anyways, Its entirely fine for me as I have fluffy blusher brush with me.Overall I am very impressed with this shade and recommend it to everyone.

Pros Of The Product:
-Very pretty Peachy Brown shade.
-This particular shade is apt for Indian skin tones.
-The texture of the blush is quite soft and blends well.
-Its a moderately pigmented blush, so you can use according to your need.
-Staying power is near to 4 -5hours.
-Packaging is very attractive.
-It can be used for contouring purpose too.
-Its one of the cheapest baked blush available in the market.
-Its a versatile shade and can be used both during day and night.
-It contains very finely milled golden shimmers which gives a pretty golden sheen to cheeks.
-Never accentuates my pores.
It will last me for a long time.
-Lakme India website has finally updated about Lakme Absolute range. :p

Cons Of The product:
-Not provided with a blusher brush or mirror.
-It may seem pricy for many people.
-Very few limited shades are available in this range.
-I wish they had at least one matte blush in this range.

Rating: 4 out of 5

Will I repurchase it? I wont need to.It will last me  for a long time

My Overall Recommendation: Very flattering shade for Indian Skin tones. So highly recommended.

I have applied two swipes to show you guys!

My First Online Shopping Experience at Healthkart and Lakme Absolute Haul

Hello Friends!
This is my first shopping experience from Healthkart. Do read on to know more regarding my overall shopping experience!

My Overall Shopping Experience:
I have been interested in shopping from Healthkart since a long time, as they offer wide range of products from personal care, Health care to Beauty related cosmetic products. As they do not offer COD to my place,I had restrained buying from them. Nowadays everyone is posting their Lakme absolute haul from Healthkart.I was very much interested to try some products from Lakme absolute range and when I saw Healthkart has become official partner of Lakme Absolute then I mailed them and asked if they could add COD to my place. They flatly refused saying there are other options like Internet banking and Demand draft too.

Once while checking online payment options at their website I saw one could pay using SBI Maestro card too.I had never ever shopped before using debit card, it was a risk but the products were tempting enough. So without much delay I placed one order on 1st December and the second order on 2nd December.Immediately by second of placing my order I received a payment receipt and tracking number showing my products have been dispatched.Today on December 8, I received  all my products in good condition.I also got two Lakme color crush nail polish worth Rs 125 free with each order.I checked the manufacturing date and saw everything were new.I am quite amazed with the quality of Lakme Absolute Moonlit highlighter, its simply awesome. The matte lipstick Elegant bloom is dark pink color with mauve undertone, its good lipstick but certainly not worth the price as you require 4-5 swipes for opaque coverage and its definitely not transfer resistant. Will review all my haul stuffs very very soon.

My First Order:

-Lakme Silk Liner- Jaded Mint
-Lakme Absolute Moonlit Highlighter

My Second Order:
-Lakme Silk Liner- Gypsy Green
-Lakme Absolute Matte Lipstick- Elegant Bloom

Haul Pics:

I got the two nail polish from Lakme free with my order.Alas I am not at all a nail polish fan, so may give these away in a giveaway!

Here I present you my SCARY Lip Swatch! :p  Anyways I need 4-5 swipes for this much pigmentation! Very disappointed with the lipstick quality!

After 4 Swipes, I got this result!
Its definitely not Transfer Resistant!
The Silk Liners are damn pigmented, these are the result of just a single swipe!

 Pros of Shopping at Healthkart.com
-Stocks up 300 + brands ranging from personal care, health care and beauty related products.
-They have a referral program in which you get Rs 100 off in your first purchase and get a code, if your friends use that code, Rs 100 will credited in your account.
-They are the first ones to stock up Lakme absolute products. :)
-They are giving awesome gifts with every purchase. :x
-I received my order within 6 days.
-They have wide range of payment options including demand draft, SBI maestro debit card online payment and direct money transfer.
-Very active customer care.
-You can directly chat with customer care people at their chat portal in their website.
-All the products I received were brand new.
-Packaging is very sturdy and completely safe.
-Once a product is out of stock, they have the option of 'Notify me' which is very helpful.
-They give fabulous discount on several products.
-Every week, they  offer extra discount on several brands.

Cons of Shopping at Healthkart.com
-They offer COD to very limited places. (They are continuously covering up new places for COD Service)
-Earlier there were discount on Revlon Products but now you don't get any discount. :(
-They offer free shipping only on purchase of products worth Rs 500.Simply discouraging!
-They sometimes also send old stuff.(One of  My Close friend's Experience) :((
-I wish they could give at least 5 % discount on Lakme Absolute range.(They intend to give 15% cash back in near future)
-I got all products after 6 days which is kind of delay when compared with other Shopping sites. (This is only due to DTDC courier people and Healthkart is not responsible)
-No one replies in their chat portal.
-They don't offer flexible service suiting to customers need and interest. For Eg- I requested them to send products to my place by COD,but they flatly refused whereas several other sites have sent me my order through COD. =((

Will I Shop Again? If they agree for COD then I definitely intend to shop from Healthkart.com in future.

Update: Sonal from Healthkart.com had mailed me and clarified several issues.
-First of all I got my order after 6 days because the DTDC people took 4 days to send me my order from Ranchi to my hostel.
-Second they have also added that they will offer COD to several places in due course of time.
-Third they are willing to offer 15% cash back on Lakme Absolute products in few weeks. For these reasons, I think I will surely shop from them in near future. Thanks a lot Sonal for clarifying everything.

Lakme Rose Powder

Hello Friends!
Today I am going to review Lakme rose powder which I have been using for almost 5-6 years for setting my foundation.Except Lakme I haven't yet got to see any loose powder at such inexpensive price for such huge quantity.

What the Company Says?
Lakme Rose Power is a foundation make-up in a powder format that gives a flawless radiant look. It contains rose fragrance to keep you fresh and contains sunscreen to protect from harmful UV rays. It gives a flawless radiant look.

Price- Rs 99, I got this for 85.

Ingredients: Talc, Zinc Sterate, Cyclopentasiloxane, Titanium Dioxide, Aluminium hydroxide, Steric Acid, Perfume, Rosa Damascena Extract; may contain CI 77491, CI77492, CI77499, CI12085, CI77891; Phenoxy Ethanol, Butyl Paraben, Ethyl Paraben, Methyl Paraben, Propyl Paraben

My Take on this Product:

I kind of prefer loose powder over compact for more natural
and soft look.I have been using this loose powder since a long time and still do after applying my foundation or sunscreen. It comes in a huge tub like packaging with an upper brown lid and inner lid with holes and a sticker attached to it.I don't peel off the sticker because many times lots of quantity comes out and the moment you open the brown lid, there is mess all around. It comes with a soft puff which I don't use.I apply the loose powder with my kabuki brush for a more refined and flawless look.I have minor blemishes, so this powder hides those and gives light coverage too.It instantly brightens up my complexion and makes me look awake and fresh.I have always used the shade warm pink but recently I bought the shade soft pink and liked it more.Soft pink shade is meant for fair skin, I have wheatish skin but I liked it a lot as it gave me light coverage with a bit of peachiness to my skin.It looks lovely and soaks up extra oil leaving luminous ,soft skin.It strongly smells of rose petals, which I like. The quantity provided is pretty huge and will last me a whole year.So I do not have to spend a lot on my loose powder a lot and am happy using it.

Before Applying

After Applying
Pros of Lakme Rose Powder:
-Very soft textured loose powder which soaks up excess oil giving near matte finish.
-Blends really oil without getting cakey.
-Imparts sheer coverage hiding minor blemishes.
-Contains sunscreen.
-It smells of rose petals.
-Very reasonable price.
-Quantity is lot and will last a whole year with regular use.
-Available at almost all cosmetic shops.
-Two variants are available-
.Warm Pink-For Dusky to wheatish skin tone.
.Soft Pink-For fair skin tone.
-Soft pink doesn't look ott on wheatish skin.
-Its not a shimmery loose powder thus ideal for day wear.

Cons of Lakme Rose Powder:
-Contains lots of parabens.
-Instead of soft puff, I would prefer a make up sponge.
-After peeling off the sticker, every time you open the screwed cap, you would end up getting messy with loose powder spilling here and there.
-How much SPF it contains is no where mentioned.
-It imparts very light coverage.
-It expires within two years.
-I don't prefer any kind of fragrance in my cosmetics.
-Price has increased from Rs 55 to Rs 99.
-Only two shades are available, so dark skin people may find it a bit ashy on their face.

Rating:3.5 out of 5

Will I repurchase it? No, This time I intend to buy Bourjois Paris Mineral Enriched Loose Powder.

Overall Recommendation: If you are in need of an inexpensive loose powder for setting your foundation, then definitely go for this.
