Lakme Absolute Matte Lipstick Elegant Bloom, Swatch, FOTD.

Hello Sweeties,
Today I am going to review Lakme Absolute Matte Lipstick in shade 'Elegant Bloom'.So read on to know whether this range impressed me or depressed me? He He He ( Bad Joke I know).
Price: Rs 375

What The Company Says?
Ensure a proper pout while you enhance the beauty of your lips, with Lakme Absolute Matte. Enriched with Vitamin E and wheat germ oil, this keeps the lips smooth, silky and soft. Now enjoy the special attention along with an attractive matte finish as the non-drying creamy formula keeps the lips hydrated.

My Take On This Product:
I wanted to try Lakme Absolute range since I had seen its promotion pics.Everything looked damn impressive and the 16 hour stay claim was more thank enough to make me purchase this lipstick.I purchased it from Healthkart after few days of launching in the market.I was very confused in between Peach Carnation and Elegant Bloom shade, but at last ended up buying 'Elegant Bloom' which is a Pinkish Plum based lipstick.I am not very comfortable wearing plum based lipsticks but this looked good to me.

This lipstick comes in a Silver Greyish metallic casing which looks really classy and attractive.Seriously Lakme people have spent 99% of their time and effort in designing the look and pricing the Lakme Absolute Range, :p only 1% thought to its quality.

The tip of the Lipstick is slanted like other Lipsticks of their Day Wear range. The shade 'Elegant Bloom' has very fine golden shimmer which is though bit visible on the surface, is not visible on lips. This is not a pigmented matte lipstick.I prefer one swipe matte lipstick, which imparts opaque coverage with a single swipe. My upper lip is bit pigmented so I need some 3-4 swipes for opaque coverage.

This Lipstick should only be used with a lip balm underneath because without a lip balm, it settles in fine lines and pronounces the fine lines too making your lips  look severely chapped.I also noticed this lipstick fades from the corners of the lips and stays as a patchy uneven stain. With a lip balm the lipstick glides on like feather and gives a lightweight feeling. However after couple of hours, I find it getting patchy on my lips.Without a lip balm it totally dehydrates my lips. One thing I observed that very less product gets transferred to my tea cup after drinking tea.Its not a completely transfer resistant lipstick.

On an average, this lipstick stays on for 2-3 hours without a lip balm and 3-4 hours with a Lip balm underneath.Note I don't even have chapped or dehydrated lips.Overall I didn't like this range except the Moonlit Highlighter which I am going to review soon.
Forgot to mention its fragrance is very much similar to Britannia Orange Cream biscuits. :p

Pros Of The Product:
-Its a pretty pinkish plum shade.
-Its very light weight and feels nothing on lips.
-I prefer slanted tip for application.
-It can be carried well during day time too with single swipe.
-The metallic casing is very attractive.
-The information and pictures given in Lakme India website is so eye catching.
-Its transfer resistant, though not entirely.
-With a lip balm, it stays for some 3-4 hours on my lips.
-Quantity is good too.

Cons Of The Product:
-This Lipstick is not very pigmented, you would need 3-4 swipes for opaque coverage.
-It completely dehydrated my lips and makes my lips look chapped and unhealthy without a lip balm.
-Whenever I swipe more than twice for opaque coverage, the application was uneven and patchy.
-This lipstick faces from the sides of my lips in a hour and stays on mid portion of lips for 2-3 hours, which looks very odd and ugly.
-With a lip balm though initially the lipstick looks good, after few hours the application becomes uneven.
-Its not a single matte lipstick.
-It has fine golden shimmers too.
-I regret why didn't I buy the Peach Carnation shade instead of this.
-This shade is not everybody's cup of tea.
-Not suitable for day wear.
-I find this lipstick damn expensive for the bad quality.
-16 hours stay claim is completely over-hyped and false.
-Almost all shades in this range are mauve based.

Rating: 2.75 out of 5

Will I repurchase it? If all the lipsticks in the whole world are banned then yes. :p

My Overall Recommendation? I am sorry I don't want to recommend this range to anybody. :(

Me after a tiring day! :p

Tips and Toes Dramatic Gel Eyeliner

Hello Friends,
This dramatic gel eye liner was the first product I purchased from Tips and Toes after going through my fellow blogger Anuradha's post.I had never ever tried a single gel liner before and this was my first try with gel liners. From that day onwards I never had to look back to liquid liners.Do read it to know more:
Check out their website HERE

Price: Rs 225 for 2 gm.

What The Company Says?

Ingredients:

My Take  On This Product:
My first experience was with Tips and Toes Dramatic gel eye liner from the brand Tips and Toes.It comes in a cute pot with an attached gel eyeliner brush.I love its packaging a lot as the brush is attached to the tub and there is no fear of losing it.The quality of brush is good too.The formula of the gel liner is matte and creamy which gives you blackest black line with a single swipe.

The gel liner is truly blackest black shade which I love to use to my upper lash liner and sometimes lower lash line too.It didn't sting a bit when I used on waterline though I wont recommend you to do the same. The most awesome thing about this gel liner is that its smudge proof and waterproof too.

I completely adore this gel liner and due to my pleasant experience with it, I bought Maybelline and Inglot gel liner too.I will purchase Mac gel liners too in purchase. Those who have never used a gel liner can try this product available at reasonable price for sure.If you like this, go for higher end brand's gel liners too.I find this gel liner to dry up after two months or so.If yours dries up too then swirl the gel liner pot in boiling water for five minutes or so.You can add Inglot Duraline too or you can use your hair dryer too to melt this too.

Plus Points:
+Very nice and attractive packaging.
+This comes with an attached gel liner brush of good quality.
+Very reasonable price for a gel liner.
+Quantity provided for the price is lot too.Mine just doesn't finish. :p
+Up to date and attractive website with loads of information.
+This gel liner gives blackest black color with single swipe.
+Its completely smudge proof and waterproof too.
+It didn't ever sting my waterline.
+This liner stays on my eyes till I don't remove it with a makeup remover.
+Complete list of ingredients is given.

Minus Points:
-You can't draw thin lines with the brush provided with it.
-Only one shade is available.
-This dries up after few months.
-Availability is an issue.
-Contains Parabens.

Rating: 4 out of 5

Will Repurchase it? If I need to then I will surely repurchase it.

My Overall Recommendation: Those who want to try their hands on gel liners and want to try a reasonable product for the first time then surely go for this.

Jiva Grape Seed Mask

Hello Friends!
I was not able to post regularly due to a conference which I am attending at my home city.Just took out time and publishing this post on a face mask which I have been using since 2010.

What The Company Says?
This mask contains grape seed oil, which is high in vitamin E and Omega 6 fatty acids. It also contains natural chlorophyll and antioxidants that promote cell growth, and linoleic acid, which tones and tightens the skin. Almond oil is an excellent emollient, which helps the skin to balance water loss and absorption of moisture. Bel fruit helps tighten the pores, making skin look fresh and youthful.

Action
Gently erases fine lines by accelerating the cell renewal process. Improves skin texture and fortifies fragile dermal tissue.

Price: Rs-95 for 50 gm

Ingredients:

My Take on This Product:
I bought this mask from Jiva Ayurveda some months back along with their well known shampoos and few medicines. The description given on the website was tempting enough and price was damn reasonable, thus I placed my order and got all the stuff within 5 days. This product is meant for skin rejuvenation and firming. Due to sudden weight loss my facial skin, sort of didn’t feel as firm as it was so I kind of thought to try some herbal masks for firming my skin.

I would love to say that this pack didn’t disappoint me at all. Its a must have pack for people desiring toning and firming of facial skin. Its a thick paste which can’t be used as such thus I dilute it with water or milk and apply. This paste contains grape seed granules too thus the pack is quite coarse in texture. Its fragrance is very herbal kind, mainly smells of grape seeds. Its been more than a year now, am using this mask and after using it I always notice lighter skin tone, firm skin and appearance of pores reduce remarkably.

But if we leave using this pack then all these effects are temporary, thus I make it a point to use it at least once a week.

Plus Points:
1-One of the most effective herbal mask available for skin rejuvenation and skin firming.
2-Efectively reduces appearance of visible pores.
3-I felt immediate skin firmness with single use.
4-My skin tone lightens with every use.
5-Contains several herbal ingredients like almonds, grape seed oil etc.
6-Very reasonable price for the quantity provided.
7-It contains grape seed granules which exfoliates my skin too.
8-Available at JIVA, which offers several modes of payment option.
9-It comes in tube like packaging which I prefer than tub packaging.

Minus Points:
1-Availability is an issue as it can be purchased only from Jiva Ayurveda.
2-Its fragrance is quite strong which I don’t like.
3-Its quite thick thus cannot be used as such. It should be diluted with water or milk.
4-If we stop using this mask, then effect is not long lasting.
5-With regular use, product starts depositing near the opening.

Rating: 4 out 5

Will I repurchase? Yes I will surely purchase it again.

My Overall Recommendation: I would recommend this facial mask specially to those who desire to firm up their facial skin.
