My Take On The Product:
I had picked this product some three years back and till now I simply love using it.In this few months I bought other scrubs like Hip Hop coffee scrub, Lotus White glow scrub, Aroma Magic Mineral Glow Scrub, but seriously no one could impress me as much as the Biotique Papaya scrub.

This scrub comes in a Green wide tub like Packaging ( usual packaging of Biotique) with flap cover. The scrub smells strongly of Raw papaya which I like because it makes me feel like using safe and natural scrub on my skin. Those with sensitive nose may not like it at all.

The scrub is a thick and cream colored with some evenly distributed brown colored granules. The scrub is very thick and the granules are quite big enough and coarse. But I feel it has the correct abrasiveness that my skin needs to remove dead skin cells from my dry skin.I never use it directly on face as it doesnt spread properly in that way.I dilute the scrub with water and sometimes with Aroma Magic Aromatic skin toner and then gently exfoliate my skin for 3-4 minutes.

This scrub works like a miracle product on my skin.It removes the dead cells and brightens my skin instantly also relieves my dull skin.Sometimes I dilute the scrub and keep it om my face and neck as a face pack for 15  minutes and then wash it off.To my utter surprise, whenever I use it as a face pack my skin becomes very soft, not only that it also removes tan from my facial skin and neck. Its simply my HG Scrub. From all the scrubs I have used till date, this is the best I find for my skin though I feel people with sensitive skin may not like it.Those who love very gentle scrubs can dilute this and use or simply skip it.

Pros Of The Product:
-Contains several natural ingredients like Papaya, Banana, Neem etc.
-Its fragrance is similar to raw papaya which I like as it makes me feel using naturally safe products on my skin.
-Its a thick creamy scrub which requires a bit to scrub entire face and neck.
-Raw papaya have the property of naturally bleaching the skin.Whenever I dilute this scrub and use as a face pack then it not only makes my skin velvety soft but also removes tan.
-Brightens my complexion and relieves dull appearance instantly.
-Its devoid of harmful preservatives.
-For my dry skin I feel its the best scrub for my skin.
-The granules though are big and coarse. But whenever I dilute it and use , it gives desired abrasiveness to my skin.
-Available these days at several shopping sites and also cosmetic stores.
-Never ever broke me out.
-Checks further occurrence of blackheads and whiteheads.
-The outer carton looks so good with loads of information on product.
-Updated and informative website.

Cons Of The Product:
-Everyone wont like the fragrance, its quite strong.
-The scrub is very thick so do use it only after diluting it or else you will end up getting microscopic tears.
-I feel a slight burning sensation while rubbing it on my face but it goes away completely within few minutes.Sensitive skin people can skip this scrub however.
-Those who like using mild scrub for day today use may find it bit harsh on their skin.
-I do not prefer tub packaging for hygiene concern.
-In the packaging its being instructed to use it everyday. ( Please never ever do that as that will increase the sensitivity of your skin, do scrub maximum 3 times a week).
-Many people may find it a bit pricy for 85 Gms of scrub.
-When its preservative free then how come biotique claims a shelf life of 3 years for this product?

Rating- 4 out of 5 (Based on My Experience)
Will I repurchase it? Yes I will definitely repurchase after I finish my other scrubs.

My Overall Recommendation: I totally recommend this product to everybody except people with sensitive skin and  those who love using mild scrubs.

Biotique Bio Pistachio Ageless Nourishing & Revitalizing Face Pack

Hello Friends!

As the winter season has arrived, I felt like reviewing certain products that I use every winter since couple of years for rejuvenation and hydration of my skin. One of those products is Biotique Nourishing and Revitalizing Pistachio pack that I have been using since last winter.

What the Company Says:

Pistachios come from one of the oldest flowering nut trees on earth, used first by ancient queens for their nourishing and rejuvenating skin benefits. This deeply nurturing pack is blended with pure pistachio, almond, saffron and lentil seed oils to smooth, nourish and revitalize skin for a radiantly ageless complexion.

Biotique Pistachio Pack is a skin treatment used by ancient Queens. The goodness of Almond, Pistachio, Saffron and Lentils nourishes the skin while making it fairer and smoother. Can be used every day. A nourishing and revitalizing mask for even the most sensitive skin.

Apply Bio Pistachio - Biotique Pistachio Pack evenly on a clean dry skin. Leave it for 10 minutes and remove it with Luke warm water.

Price- Rs 199 for 55 gms.

Ingredients:

Pista- 2%, Kesar- 3.5 %, Daruhaldi- 2%, Jaiphal- 1%, Java- 3%, Massurica- 1.5%, Gulab Pankhuri-5%, Santra Chilka-8%, Makka- 1.5%, Geru- 12%, Tesupushp- 12%, Q.S-Cream Base.
Combats dry skin and prevents skin infection, pimples and skin blemishes.

My Take on Biotique Pistachio Pack:

True to its name, it contains pista imparting green color to the face pack. This pack is cream based with a fragrance of pista and orange peels. I have been using it since last winter and I don’t regret buying it all though I was skeptical at first seeing the price for just 55 gms. Though quantity is less, it lasts entire winter in my case. This is the only pack which doesn’t dry my skin at all, rather I feel my skin is hydrated after using it. I also use it during summer when I have kind of Normal- to oily skin at those times. In summer, I feel it keeps my skin hydrated without making my skin greasy or oilier. It maintains the proper oil water balance which is essential for every skin. So whenever I use this pack, I apply a thick layer of it and let it dry for 10-15 minutes. Do not sit under the fan while using this pack, let it dry naturally. I feel the same kind of sensation that I feel after applying freshly prepared home made orange peel mask. I love it, because it makes me feel that the pack is actually working on my skin. After the pack dries up, I take few drops of water and massage my skin for 1 minute with the face pack on my face. Then I wait for 5- 10 minutes and wash of the pack with Luke warm water. This procedure actually enhances the action of the pack on my skin more than when we just apply the pack and simply wash off after few minutes. This method not only removes tan but also makes my skin look hydrated, healthy and radiant. I do not use it every day of the week as suggested, but I do use it every alternate day for sure. So overall, I am extremely satisfied with this pack and intend to purchase it again and again.

Pros of Biotique Pistachio pack:

-Contains several herbal ingredients like Pista, Orange peels, turmeric etc.
-This pack is cream based so it hydrates my skin a lot unlike other mud packs.
-It removes tan effectively.
-It can be used regularly without the fear of break out or getting greasy skin.
-Didn’t break out my skin even once.
-Whenever I use it, I feel warm sensation that makes me happy that the pack is working on my skin.
-It gives healthy, hydrated, and radiant skin.
-It maintains the optimum oil- water balance of the skin.
-It will suit all skin types. I suggest oily skin people to wash off the pack with warm water after the pack dries up.
-Preservative free with a shelf life of 3 years.
-Can be used in winter and summer.
-Biotique makes some really good face packs, you can skip many of their products but do not skip their face packs.
-The new packaging is really colorful with loads of information.

Cons of Biotique Pistachio Pack:

-It gives warm sensation to skin whenever you apply it. People with sensitive skin may not like it. (The sensation is similar to what we feel after applying home made orange peel masks, this sensation ensures that the active ingredients are actually working on your skin).
-It is cream based so oily skin people may feel bit greasy after washing it off. (I suggest them to wash it off with warm water).
-The quantity provided is quite less for the price they are charging.
-With new packaging, they increased the price of the product.
-It has tub packaging, so unhygienic. I use a spatula to avoid contamination.
-The claim of 3 years shelf life without using any preservative makes no sense.

Rating: 4.5 out of 5

Will I repurchase it? Yes, I will purchase it again and again.

My Recommendation: I recommend this product to everybody for this winter. Use it the way I have mentioned above for maximum benefit.

Biotique Bio Berberry Refreshing Cleansing Lotion

Hello Friends!

I have lots of Biotique products with me from which I am reviewing Bio Berberry refreshing cleansing lotion today. Please read on to know more.

Price: Rs 149 for 120 ml.

What the Company Says:
Berberry is an ancient and honored herb with a history of healing and purifying properties. This refreshing, non-foaming lotion is blended with berberry, red sandalwood, fenugreek, lodhra bark and almond oil to dissolve makeup and grime. Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth.

Direction for use:
Apply generously to face and neck, then massage in gently with fingertips, morning and evening. Remove with damp cotton pads or washcloth.

This is not a Cosmetic Product. It has Therapeutic Properties.

Ingredients:
  • Daru Haldi (Berberis aristata) 2.75%
  • Lodhra (Symplocos racemosa) 1.8%
  • Rakt Chandan (Pterocarpus santalinus ) 0.4%
  • Methi Trigonella foenum gracecum 1.9%
  • Badam Tail (Prunus amygdalus) 2.0%
  • Lotion Base Q.S
Organically Pure & Preservative Free. Dermatologist Tested for Safety. Non Acnegenic. No Animal Testing.

My Take on Bio Berry Refreshing Cleansing Lotion:
Last year on purchase of products worth Rs 1000 above from Big Bazaar, Sealdah, Kolkata, I had received several Biotique products as gifts. One of them was the 30 ml small cute bottle of Berberry cleansing lotion. Much description was not given. So after coming back, I thought it’s a normal cleanser and used it like that, but it was entirely different. It was not a foaming cleanser rather like cleansing milk which would help in removing dirt, grime and makeup. The first thing that caught my attention was its fragrance, it has very strong herbal fragrance like that of tree bark and roots which I quite liked but many would not be able to bear it. This is lotion based, neither thick like other Biotique creams nor very runny consistency, well something in between that. I use it like a massaging lotion, dab it on my face and massage for two minutes every alternate days. This product makes my skin very very soft and so smooth. I used it to remove my makeup and I saw it removes most of the makeup nicely with one to two swipes. One thing I would love to tell that whenever directly I use it as makeup remover its kind of strong and I feel tingling sensation so people with sensitive skin wont like it at all. So what I do is I dilute this lotion and then use. Overall I loved this product as a massaging lotion and also as a makeup remover. Another thing I want to say, be careful while removing eye makeup, when it gets into eyes it really irritates my eyes. So I always dilute it and then use it to remove my eye makeup

Pros of Bio Berberry Refreshing Cleansing Lotion:
-Contains herbal ingredients such as Daruhaldi, lodhra, rakt chandan, methi and badam tail.
-Its price is quite reasonable for Rs 149 for 120 ml.
-Available in 30 ml and 1100 ml.
-It makes my skin very soft, supple and smooth.
-It removes makeup quite effectively.
-Never broke me out.
-It doesn’t make my skin greasy.
-It kind of hydrates my skin too like a moisturizer.
-Contains no harmful chemicals.
-Available at all cosmetic shops stocking Biotique products.
-These days this can also be bought through online shopping.
-Preservative free with a shelf life of 3 years.

Cons of Bio Berberry Refreshing Cleansing Lotion:
-The fragrance could be strong for some people. I liked it though.
-I feel tingling sensation whenever I use it undiluted.
-It irritates whenever it gets into my eyes.
-Again the same thing I am mentioning that they claim 3 years shelf life for this product which is entirely organic and preservative free.

Rating: 4 out of 5

Will I repurchase? Yes, I will definitely purchase it in future.

My Recommendation- Do try this cleanser if you like herbal products and you do not mind strong herbal fragrance. This is really effective but people with sensitive skin do a patch test on your skin before purchasing it. I recommend everybody to dilute it and then use this.

My Experience:
After having disastrous experience with Biotique Heena shampoo, I had severe hairfall and horrible scalp bumps)
I was quite apprehensive to use any other hair care product from this brand. The musk root pack also was bit drying for my hair. Even I didn’t much like their heena powder because the quantity was very less for Rs 200 and quality was just average. But as I got this as a gift, so thought to give it a try after seeing its awesome ingredients list, contains only herbals ingredients and no Dimethicone or other chemical. When I first used this conditioner, I found its fragrance to be a bit odd, It smells of Men’s after shave lotion. It is a gel based conditioner and not even very moisturizing. It didn’t help me in my hairfall problem that I was experiencing. However my hair was very shiny and looked much black than it is after using it. It didn’t weigh my hair down at all. It was overall an average product, but I like their Watercress hair salad conditioner a lot. You all may give that a try.

Pros of the product:
-Contains herbal ingredients such as Kelp, bhringraj, tesu, neem, all of which are highly acclaimed for their hair growth properties.
-Contains peppermint oil, which soothes nerves and is highly relaxing.
-It doesn’t contain Dimethicone.
-It is organically pure and preservative free.
-Not tested on animals.
-Does not cause hairfall.
-Imparts shiny and black appearance to hair
-Very reasonable price, Rs 145 for  120 ml.

Cons of the product:
-It is gel based thus more quantity is required.
-Is it really preservative free? I don’t think so!
-Am tired of hearing this claim of so called ‘Intensive hair growth treatment’ from popular shampoo brands.
-Weird smell of  Men’s after shave lotion, totally turn off for me.
-How come the complete ingredient list of both shampoo and conditioner is same?

Will I Repurchase?? No Never.

Rating: 3

Overall  Recommendation: There are other better products than this, so I wont recommend this to you. You may try Biotique Water cress hair salad though.
